What You Can Expect

The Introductory Discussion

Our priority is to gain a thorough understanding of your current situation. We understand that listening to you is critical to being able to offer assistance. Expect compassion and carefully chosen questions from one of our trained Isleworth Coordinators. During this discussion, we will gather detailed information about the history of and current concerns  surrounding your struggling teen or young adult. Discretion is of utmost importance at all times. The information gathered allows us to create a tailored approach for your family. Isleworth’s in-house experts will use this information to structure a personalized strategy.

The Isleworth Family Plan

You will be matched with an experienced Isleworth Guide who will create a tailored Comprehensive Family Plan. You will be empowered and supported to implement the plan with your Isleworth Team alongside throughout. The plan details recommended approaches for next steps to help your loved one back on the road to health and independence. Our expertise in accessing programs and treatment options, and navigating the behavioral and mental health field, sets Isleworth apart. Our Guides will also assist with the administrative burden of accessing and managing needed resources. Our member families also have access to Isleworth proprietary and curated content based on specific needs.

The Peer

The Professional Peer is an integral part of the Isleworth experience. We believe no one understands the intense experience of caring for a young person in distress like someone who has a similar “lived experience”. Our Peers all have lived experience as well as specific training in the Isleworth Method of helping a parent or caregiver through this difficult time. You will have scheduled check-ins with your Peer and will have access to a text, voice or email “hot-line” for urgent matters.

While the above program describes our Classic Plan, under certain circumstances, we can offer Isleworth Peer Only and Isleworth Urgent.

Isleworth Peer Only is designed for those families who understand the “power of the peer” but whose loved one is not in need of immediate service offerings. However, these families recognize that the road back to health can be long and filled with steps both forward and back, and see the benefit of walking that road with a Peer by their side. The Peer Mentor experience would be similar to that of the Classic Plan, with scheduled meetings and other contacts as needed.

Isleworth Urgent is a unique service for those families who find themselves in a crisis situation. It can be devastating if a loved one is in the emergency room or a psychiatric hospital because of suicidal or threatening behavior, and you don’t know where to turn. Isleworth can provide solutions to resolve the immediate crisis and help make a plan for the next steps.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GET ANSWERS

  • A: Before an issue has ballooned into a crisis is actually a great time to seek an Isleworth Family Plan. By addressing a potential issue early, we can help change the trajectory your child may be heading down. If you knew your child had a cavity, you wouldn’t wait until the tooth fell out to seek medical care. Mental health treatment is no different.

  • A: Your Isleworth liaison will have full access to our complete database of providers. There you will find listings of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, marriage counselors, treatment facilities, schools, transportation options, and more. Isleworth personnel will not make the suggested appointments for you, however, we will provide detailed information about services, and give you guidance on how to choose providers that will best suit your needs.

  • A: Isleworth Peers are all screened and trained using our Isleworth curriculum and methodology. As part of the training, Isleworth personnel carefully review each Peer’s history involving their loved one’s struggles (depression, anxiety, substance abuse, computer addiction, and other illnesses). That information is used to similarly match Peers with our clients. In the rare instance that the client/Peer match isn’t successful, Isleworth personnel can smoothly transition a client to a new Peer.

  • A: A typical Isleworth client meets with their Peer one time per week in person or on Zoom and can contact the Peer in between meetings by phone or text on as needed basis, within reason. If you feel like you need to meet more or less frequently, you can review your options directly with your Peer. The client/Peer relationship lasts as long as the family feels that the support is needed.
